Kirsten Rondal Clausen graduated from Denmark’s Design School with a Master Degree in Interior Architecture and design in 1994. The study also included a semester at Middlesex University, department of Interior Architecture in London, UK.
She has worked for well known architectural firms and interior design firms as Torsten Thorup Architects, JJW Architects, Juul Design and Arends Architecture all in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Since moving to New York City in 2008, Kirsten has worked independently with her own clients as well as in collaboration with other architects and interior designers. The projects include design of commercial spaces, office spaces, showrooms, residential design, furniture design, lighting projects, and color schemes, choice of finishes, furniture, fabrics, rugs and equipment.
Kirsten approaches every project with people as the focal point, and the work is characterized by listening to the client, analysis and careful planning.
The aim is a minimum disturbance to the environment. Quality and sustainability is in focus. This is an approach entirely in keeping with the spirit of the continuing Scandinavian design tradition, which since the 1920s has produced world-class architecture and furniture with an eye to high quality and thoughtful, people-friendly design.
